Carver Power Amplifier Modifications
Carver amplifiers have more than enough power to drive any speaker, including speakers with difficult-to-drive, low-impedance loads such as the well-known Infinity Kappa series, with ease!
It is worth noting that better sound does not necessarily come from more power alone. For example the M-1.5t is rated at 350 watts per channel, yet in reality, the average output of these amplifiers exceeds their rated output by nearly double at 600 watts per channel with a total headroom of 750 watts per channel. To acquire 3db of gain, you would need to double the output of the amplifier to about 1200 to 1400 watts per channel. The reason is that the human ear functions in a logarithmic fashion; when it comes to sound pressure changes, you need to have a 3dB threshold to hear wide bandwidth changes in sound pressure.
AL3 and the Original Carver Amazing Loudspeakers Upgrades

When restoring the Amazing Loudspeaker crossovers, we use SOLEN metalized polypropylene capacitors. With the electrolytic capacitors, we hand-pick and match values, as these do not have the tight tolerances of the polypropylene device and can vary as much as 20% versus 3%.
There is an option to utilize air wound inductors in the low-pass filter of the crossover. This change will improve both power handling and overall performance, as air wound inductors do not change inductance under high-power applications as iron core inductors do.
These changes will optimize the sound of any speaker system, including the Carver Amazing. The only downside is that matching the DCR of the coil is size! It takes a much larger gauge of wire to keep the DCR low to keep the efficiency the same, and the impedance will be more stable. Devices used in our upgrades & modifications

The semiconductor brands we use in our upgrades are from verified vendors - no knockoff or fake cheap Chinese service parts such as semiconductors, capacitors, or integrated circuits.
